FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Why should we hire a videographer when we have a photographer?
Videos and photos are two entirely different means of media. Still photographers are great and capture instant moments, we take many ourselves. Video, however, is the only way to truly capture the overall ambiance of your wedding. A picture may be worth a thousand words, but video is worth a thousand times that since it holds all the sights, sounds, and movements. I understand video gets a bad rap due to classic home video antics, but trust me when I say you will get anything but your typical home video. You will get an awesome movie that you will want to watch and share. There's nothing like watching your dress glitter, hearing your whispered vows, seeing grandma dance, or reliving your grand entrance to all the cheers of your friend and family. I feel you should have both photo and video to truly capture your day.

Why can't I just have a friend video?
You can have a friend video, but that friend would probably rather be a guest. Plus, your friend probably doesn't have the proper equipment to capture multiple angles and clear sound. Besides having equipment, talent is needed. We have the skill and talent to film and edit, so that you get a awe-inspiring final production. No shakes, crazy panning or zooming, poor meaningless audio, or feet shots are included when you hire us. You only get the best with us, so let your friends and uncles enjoy the day!

Why do you charge what you do?
Our pricing reflects the actually filming time, as well as the post-production editing time. We may be only on site with you for 5-9 hours, but we then spend up to 80 hours editing. True, there are videographers who charge way less, but most likely there work is not the same as ours. Just like in Hollywood movies we capture multiple angles and shots, and then we take all those shots and carefully select the best to seamlessly flow into a meaningful story. Sure, we could stand there and just tape from one wide angle and then hand you the finished product within a day, but that would be boring in our opinions. We like to include lots of close-ups, varied angles, and candid shots. Plus, we carefully blend all the natural audio and your music selections so that it sounds great. We like to think Hollywood and it shows!

Are you the videographer & editor?
Yes, we are the shooters and editors of your wedding. We complete each production from start to finish. We are the ones you meet with us, talk to on the phone, and correspond with via email. We do not outsource our work. We film to edit.

What are the benefits in having 2 videographers?
With 2 people we are able to be in more than one place at a time, meaning you get more complete coverage. One of us can be taping in one area and another off taping somewhere else. You will get more dynamic shots for a hollywood style movie versus a home movie. With multiple people and cameras we should not miss a thing.

Do you put a microphone on the groom?
Yes, sound is over half the movie and we take care in making sure everything is clear and blended. We will put a lavaliere microphone on the groom to record the bride's and groom's vows. Other microphones will be used where needed to make sure all audio is audible. During toasts at the reception we can hook onto the DJ's microphone so we get clear sound. We believe without good sound you lose the story.

What kind of editing do you do?
You get a full length feature movie that has been seamlessly edited from start to finish. All movies are enhanced with our creative and elegant editing style. We add your music selections over certain segments, such as the receiving line and dinner. Due to the amount of editing and personalization to each wedding, completion of the final product takes many hours.
